Lost Places - Berlin Cinematic

For the cinematic short film Flow composer and director Christian Halten sampled a collection of special sounds and effects from Multiphonics CV-2, a new virtual modular instrument released by Applied Acoustics Systems from Montreal. The film takes us on a sonic journey out of noisy Berlin city to lost and also beautiful places in the outskirts.

'Creating custom samples and instruments is always my first creative step when working on a new film project as a composer. In Flow the abandoned locations needed unique musical ambiences. Using the advanced synthesis and patching features of Multiphonics CV-2 and combining them with extensive sampling was the key to this score. A lot of improvisations were done to picture and then sampling the best moments for the soundtrack. I'm very glad that Applied Acoustics Systems allowed this open space for sonic exploration. As modular sounds can get quite complex and harder to perform polyphonically, sampling comes in very handy. Creating custom instruments with SampleRobot allowed for easy control and multitrack live performance.' Christian Halten

If you haven't checked out Multiphonics CV-2 you can find the dedicated links to the free demo version on this site. Have fun!
